St. Louis Weekend

What a fun weekend in St. Louis! Lots of great food, great drinks and fabulous b-ball! My husband and I drove to St. Louis Friday morning (which meant no work on Friday--who-hoo) It's always great to be driving, listening to tunes and talking and knowing that you have a three day weekend ahead! We made it downtown to St. Louis by 1pm and checked into our awesome hotel which was right by the arch. We checked in, changed into our Buckeye clothes and headed for some beers and grub. We cozied up to a bar a couple blocks from the stadium and had lunch and talked. After a while we headed to a fun little irish bar until the game was to begin. The buzz was all around--fans from Ohio, Northern Iowa, Michigan and Tennessee! It was great to see the school spirit! We headed over to the stadium and watched two great b-ball games (even though my buckeyes lost--it was still great to watch) I would totally be up for going again next year. My heart was racing, my nails are practically chewed off from biting them and the adrenaline was fabulous!

All I can say is Go BUTLER!!!!

March Madness...meet me in St. Louis

March Madness makes me crazy...it's been a wild ride so far! I played b-ball when I was in grade school and have always loved the sport, but College B-Ball is the Best! It is so exciting and the games have been insane and so fun to watch. The Northern Iowa vs. Kansas game was the best. I was born in raised in Columbus, Ohio and was born a BUCKEYE! If anyone knows anything about Columbus or have visited they know how crazy us Ohio State Fans are...a little insane! I have always been a huge OSU fan and have rooted for my buckeyes in Football and Basketball. I am so excited they are in the Sweet 16!

Monday morning rolled around and I was thinking of seeing if there were any tickets to the games this upcoming Friday. I first went to stubhub, but they were way too expensive and then I tried Craigslist and Bingo I found some tix. I emailed and then called the person who was selling the tix. We agreed on a price and they should be at my door step when I get home! I called my husband of course to check in with him. ME being the spontaneous person I am didn't have to twist his arm much and he gave in.

Tickets-check, hotel room-check, going to see the Buckeyes in the Sweet 16 Tournament in St. Louis=PRICELESS!

GO BUCKEYES!!!!

Polar Plunge=Success

At the end of the Plunge

Love the Tee-Shirts

The Polar Plunge in Yorkville was a true success. My husband's team collected and raised over $1,500.00 for Special Olympics and the entire Yorkville division rasied over $100,000. It was a great time and our friend Gary even won for best costume--he was the team mascot of Cluck-In-Brew. I have lots of pictures to share. I think I might even do it next year! Go Team Cluck-In-Brew.

Green Lake House

Reflection

This past weekend we were invited to go up to our friend's lakehouse in Green Lake, Wisconsin. We had been up to Green Lake in the summer, but never for the Winter Season! It was such an amazing, relaxing, wonderful weekend. We got up to the house at around 6pm on Friday night and spent time drinking boat loads of wine, eating pizza and chatting till about 2am! Saturday my friend Liz and I made spa appointments at a nearby spa in town. It was absolutelty amazing--I had a swedish massage and it was heaven! We were enjoying all the perks of the spa-the amazing massage, relaxation room, the hot tub and huge showers--it was great! We got back about 2 hours later and went on a snowmobile ride with our hubbies on the Lake and rode to a nearby bar-Norton's. We had a couple drinks, watched the Olympics and just had an amazing time. We got back and made Chili and had some more adult beverages. Everything about the weekend was wonderful-great friends, conversation, yummy food, playing Uno, watching movies and the Olympics and much more! I was just talking to my husband about getting away and wanting to go somewhere for vacation--Green Lake was the perfect getaway and so much fun! Thanks Chris & Liz!

Polar Bear Plunge

Here is a picture of Green Lake in Wisconsin
(yes my husband will be jumping into a lake like this, but it won't be frozen)

A couple of weeks ago, my husband had told me he was going to be participating in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics on Sunday, March 7th, 2010 in Yorkville, IL. This event is to raise money for Special Olympics by jumping in a freezing lake--sounds fun, right? I think it will be a blast and can't wait to take some pictures of his buddies in their swim trunks! I'll post some pictures and funny stories next week after the event. If you are able to donate to the cause-that would be great--here is the website.

Can't wait and thanks so much!
