Am supposed to feel like this?

So in the past week I have been feeling much better than about 3 weeks ago. I am 11 weeks and almost finished with my first trimester. Three weeks ago I was feeling so sick-beyond tired, body aches, boobs hurting, nauseous feeling and just wiped out. I didn't feel human and not feeling like yourself is the worst feeling. Then one day about a week and half ago, I woke up and didn't have the sick feeling to my stomach, my food issues were gone ( I was having trouble smelling and eating certain foods), and I had more energy! Thank goodness! My second doctor appointment is December 7th and I can't wait to go and see what they say!

Looking forward to being off work December 24-January 2nd! It will be a nice vacation from work and hopefully the husband and I can get some work done around the house.

House Projects to complete:
  • Paint the Office and decorate with new comforter and fun paintings!
  • Paint the Guest bedroom which will be the baby's room
  • Paint the basement and hopefully get new carpet (it's our dog's favorite place to pee) eww!
  • Register for the baby
  • Buy the crib and start setting up the baby's room

Surprise I am Back!

Baby Cupcakes
Surprise!

Okay so I haven't written in a very, very, very long time! I am so sorry. I have been a little busy. Lots of things have been going on in the past couple months; weddings, showers, bachelorette parties, my 30th (wow) b-day and oh yes my husband Dave and I are expecting a baby in June 22, 2011! WOW!
Yes we found out on Monday, October 18, 2010...I had not gotten my monthly friend and thought "hmmm, maybe I should take a test." I took a test and it came back positive. My hands started shaking, my heart racing and a huge smile came upon my face! OH MY GOSH!

We had so much fun telling family and friends and now I am sharing the good news with you all! It is an amazing feeling minus the nausea and my pants starting to feel a bit more snug. Right now I am about 9 weeks! We are so excited, blessed, nervous and tired! haha!

I'll be gearing my blog more to my pregnancy and any questions I have--hopefully all of you will chime in with kind words, love and suggestions!

Love,

My 16 Year Old Letter...to me!

Me at 16 on the far right with the bangs! haha

I was reading a blog one day in the Winter of 2010 and came upon this awesome blogger and she inspired me to think about my life and different situations when I was 16 years old. Being that I am almost 30 year old in 78 days (gulp), I really enjoyed going back to when I was 16 and giving myself some pieces of advice!

Go on to to read my letter to myself...I am sure a lot of you will have similar pieces of advice!

Thanks Red Boots!

Here is my Letter:

Dear Kelly

16 and loving life is what you are doing right now....great friends, playing volleyball, boys galore and you have just gotten your lifeguard certificate--hello Tan and being out in the summer all day long. A couple of notes to remember and take in breath by breath.

You are pretty oblivious to the boys that are going to start creeping up in your life....dont' be too scared--but take advantage of that cute lifeguard at Eagle pool...he will be your first crush, love and a good friend till the end even though you broke his heart at 19. Boys right now are a big thing and your about to meet someone in about a year that will change your life (or so you think). Don't give in to easy with him liking you and date around and don't fall for the first guy who will end up breaking your heart and end many of your high school friendships because they took his side after you broke up - HE IS NOT WORTH IT. Say yes to Josh-the lifeguard again and don't tell him your still in love with your high school boyfriend...stupid--and don't do it.

Volleyball and the one sport you love: Do not worry about making the Varsity Team and playing for the rest of your life like Gabrielle Reece--it's not in the cards sister. In fact, why don't you try out for something else--swimming, cheerleading, Flags...give it your all because you never know what's going to happen. Remember to keep loving Volleyball, but it doesn't have to mean everything to you at this moment.

Friends and Enemies: Right now you have more friends then you can handle , but that's because your honest, loving, friendly and fun! Remember to keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Sometimes jealousy gets in the way of things--but don't worry about some high school friends because in the end they are not worth it.

Summer before your Freshman Year of College: Have a blast with your friends, lifeguard again and teach swim lessons...you'll become closer to that cute little girl Nola and her family will one day go to your wedding. Also-do not take that Summer School Psychology Class--you will not pass and end up at Harper College...which actually isnt' so bad and you will become Best Friends from a girl who you were just friends with through high school--she will actually end of becoming one of your best friends.

St. Norberts--Go to Norberts and join CC HAMS and remain close friends with your girls--they will end up being party of life when your almost 30...! They are amazing great friends and will do anything for you....oh and that tour guide Mark that you had when you went to visit Senior Year of HS--get in touch with him and smooch him...it will be a story of all to tell people.

Pool--keep in touch with people from the pool---especially Kristin Hoblik--she will later on in about four years introduce to you to the most, wonderful man that you will marry. Do not worry about this--he is a bit older--but he is your soulmate and the best thing...

Chicago--do not worry about staying at home with your parents--everyone does it...but do MOVE downtown--for at least one year...you'll regret if you don't.

When your dating your Soon to be Husband do NOT introduce your red-headed friend to his frat brother--it will not be good--for all four of you....

Be good to yourself...don't keep smoking (it's bad for you) and enjoy life--you only get one!

Yours truly-
Kelly at age 29

4th of July weekend Part Three

Surfing on July 14th
Ahh, North Carolina!

So beautiful!

So we came back from camping & the concert on the 4th of July! Let me tell you that it was so nice to take a shower--the best feeling in the world! My girl scouting skills came in handy, but I am now realize that I love my house, bed and warm running water! We came back to Aurora after a long ride home and a much needed shower! It was the best to just veg out at our house and we even got left overs from my parents cookout! Thanks Mom--everything was so yummy! Monday we had off work and I wanted to start packing for our trip to the Outer Banks-only 6 days early! I don't know about everyone else, but I tend to be very anal about what to bring on the trip and freak out a little bit about packing! Girls have it the worst-we have too many shoes, dresses, hair necessities and other girl stuff! I must have made about three lists and crossed them off when I packed them! Oh well....we have three suitcases and we are ready to leave! Kelly's Suitcase, Dave's suitcase and the Beach Suitcase! I have 1 hour and 15 minutes until my vacation begins and can't wait to be here very soon!
Ten things I am looking forward to vacation in Hatteras, North Carolina:

  1. Condo on the beach

  2. Reading my three books -Tori Spelling's new book, Bitter is the new black-Jen Lancaster and Something Borrowed-Emily Giffin

  3. Hanging with my hubbie

  4. Eating amazing seafood

  5. adventures of finding gems along Highway 12

  6. SURF Lessons for our anniversary

  7. Corona, Grey Goose Martinis and Wine

  8. Cup of Coffee on the patio over looking the Atlantic Ocean in the morning

  9. My new IPOD surf songs

  10. Starting Season One of Breaking Bad and watching some other fun movies!

Have a great week and will blog when I get back from Vacay!

4th of July Weekend Part Two

DMB!
Waiting in the lawn for Dave to start with Liz, Becky, Chris and me!

DMB Fans-Liz, Chris, Dave, Kelly, Pete and Dee

High school friends and DMB fans!

Our awesome campsite!

Since 1997 I have been attending Dave Matthews Band Concerts! They were the soundtrack to my life through high school, college and now! We decided to go camping with our huge DMB fan friends Chris and Liz! We bought the tix when we were out with them in Green Lake, Wisconsin in February and now the weekend was here! We packed up the jeep and headed north to Alpine Valley in Wisconsin for an afternoon of games, listening to music, grilling out and drinks! We had a great time with our dear friends Chris and Liz and Chris' brother Kyle and girlfriend Becky! It was a great time setting up our tent and all the essentials; cheddar brats, chips, beer, vodka and red bull! We left for the concert and met our friends in the parking lot for some tailgating and fun in the sun! It was so nice visiting with friends, listening to Dave and camping out! What a great weekend! We heard that DMB is playing at Wrigley in September...we might just have to get tickets!

4th of July weekend Part One

Raging Waves Waterpark
Yorkville, IL
I just love the 4th of July! It is such a fun holiday. I can remember growing up near the pool by our house and they would have games for the kids in the pool, cook-outs and all day playing in the pool until dark! Those were some of the best memories of the summer and the pool! My husband and I decided that we both love water and the sun. We decided this year to get a waterpark pass to Raging Waves in Yorkville which is about 10 minutes from our house. It was the best decision we have made and we love it...the lazy river, wave pool and slides! It is seriously the most clean waterpark and we always have the best time!

Okay. I know. I am horrible. I haven't written since oh March 2010 and it's July 1st today! What the heck happened? hmm....let's see: Lazy, busy at work, life throwing me curve balls at every which way. I really enjoy writing and expressing all my thoughts, but things have been insane these three months or so! So hopefully this will start my creative juices flowing!

St. Louis Weekend

What a fun weekend in St. Louis! Lots of great food, great drinks and fabulous b-ball! My husband and I drove to St. Louis Friday morning (which meant no work on Friday--who-hoo) It's always great to be driving, listening to tunes and talking and knowing that you have a three day weekend ahead! We made it downtown to St. Louis by 1pm and checked into our awesome hotel which was right by the arch. We checked in, changed into our Buckeye clothes and headed for some beers and grub. We cozied up to a bar a couple blocks from the stadium and had lunch and talked. After a while we headed to a fun little irish bar until the game was to begin. The buzz was all around--fans from Ohio, Northern Iowa, Michigan and Tennessee! It was great to see the school spirit! We headed over to the stadium and watched two great b-ball games (even though my buckeyes lost--it was still great to watch) I would totally be up for going again next year. My heart was racing, my nails are practically chewed off from biting them and the adrenaline was fabulous!

All I can say is Go BUTLER!!!!

What is your favorite college team?

March Madness...meet me in St. Louis

March Madness makes me crazy...it's been a wild ride so far! I played b-ball when I was in grade school and have always loved the sport, but College B-Ball is the Best! It is so exciting and the games have been insane and so fun to watch. The Northern Iowa vs. Kansas game was the best. I was born in raised in Columbus, Ohio and was born a BUCKEYE! If anyone knows anything about Columbus or have visited they know how crazy us Ohio State Fans are...a little insane! I have always been a huge OSU fan and have rooted for my buckeyes in Football and Basketball. I am so excited they are in the Sweet 16!

Monday morning rolled around and I was thinking of seeing if there were any tickets to the games this upcoming Friday. I first went to stubhub, but they were way too expensive and then I tried Craigslist and Bingo I found some tix. I emailed and then called the person who was selling the tix. We agreed on a price and they should be at my door step when I get home! I called my husband of course to check in with him. ME being the spontaneous person I am didn't have to twist his arm much and he gave in.

Tickets-check, hotel room-check, going to see the Buckeyes in the Sweet 16 Tournament in St. Louis=PRICELESS!

GO BUCKEYES!!!!

Polar Plunge=Success

At the end of the Plunge
Looks a bit Chilly

Brrr!

The Support Team

Cluck-In-Brew

Love the Tee-Shirts

The Polar Plunge in Yorkville was a true success. My husband's team collected and raised over $1,500.00 for Special Olympics and the entire Yorkville division rasied over $100,000. It was a great time and our friend Gary even won for best costume--he was the team mascot of Cluck-In-Brew. I have lots of pictures to share. I think I might even do it next year! Go Team Cluck-In-Brew.

I HEART WISCONSIN

Amazing Sun
My Husband & I standing on the Lake

Our dear friends Chris and Liz

Footprints on the snow

A view from the house

Green Lake House

Reflection

This past weekend we were invited to go up to our friend's lakehouse in Green Lake, Wisconsin. We had been up to Green Lake in the summer, but never for the Winter Season! It was such an amazing, relaxing, wonderful weekend. We got up to the house at around 6pm on Friday night and spent time drinking boat loads of wine, eating pizza and chatting till about 2am! Saturday my friend Liz and I made spa appointments at a nearby spa in town. It was absolutelty amazing--I had a swedish massage and it was heaven! We were enjoying all the perks of the spa-the amazing massage, relaxation room, the hot tub and huge showers--it was great! We got back about 2 hours later and went on a snowmobile ride with our hubbies on the Lake and rode to a nearby bar-Norton's. We had a couple drinks, watched the Olympics and just had an amazing time. We got back and made Chili and had some more adult beverages. Everything about the weekend was wonderful-great friends, conversation, yummy food, playing Uno, watching movies and the Olympics and much more! I was just talking to my husband about getting away and wanting to go somewhere for vacation--Green Lake was the perfect getaway and so much fun! Thanks Chris & Liz!
What are some of your most memorable mini vacations?

Polar Bear Plunge

Here is a picture of Green Lake in Wisconsin
(yes my husband will be jumping into a lake like this, but it won't be frozen)

A couple of weeks ago, my husband had told me he was going to be participating in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics on Sunday, March 7th, 2010 in Yorkville, IL. This event is to raise money for Special Olympics by jumping in a freezing lake--sounds fun, right? I think it will be a blast and can't wait to take some pictures of his buddies in their swim trunks! I'll post some pictures and funny stories next week after the event. If you are able to donate to the cause-that would be great--here is the website.

Love Is...

Love is...is not asking how much her new dress cost.
I'd have to say that this is a favorite of mine. I have a little problem with shopping, but I really enjoy it. Finding that great jacket on sale or the perfect pair of jeans puts a smile to my face. Last night a girlfriend and I went to get a baby gift at Target and then headed over to our favorite store to do some retail therapy. I just paid off my credit card from that store and of course I found a bunch of things that I wanted. I had a coupon and was very savvy about what I bought and paid for it without using the credit card. This made me Happy! When I got home my husband gave me one of those looks, but didn't say a word. He knew that I had paid off my card and he trusted me enough not to say anything or maybe it was the fact that he was too tired to ask after playing 10 games of basketball with this friends!
What is the one shopping store addiction you have?

Feet Love Around the World

What better feature to participate in then Nicole, over at http://myteacupsinpeony.blogspot.com/2010/02/feet-love-around-world-week-1.html

Her Feature is called "feet love around the world". I thought how perfect since my blog is bigfeetgirl. These are my black Uggs, yet I can't help to throw them out. They are the most comfortable shoes and while I am the one who walks the dog in the morning--then these were the shoes for today. It was a cold and blustery morning and my Uggs keep my big feet nice and warm! I LOVE UGGS!

Snail Mail

Beautiful Necklace from http://www.lisaleonard.com/

I don't know about you--but I am a true letter girl! I love receiving letters in the mail and notes and even better--presents! I have always been obsessed with mail and receiving letters...I was a good pen pal when I was 10--that is for sure! Call me crazy--but I love getting notes and sending them. Making someone feel special and having someone write you a letter, thank-you note or just "I miss you" note is so special. I think it's wonderful when people take the time to write sincere messages in your card! I really look forward to coming home from work, grabbing my sweet dog for a walk and getting the mail. Now I know what many of you are thinking--Mail=Bills! I do open the dreaded bills, but once someone sends me a letter, invite or something they have sent through the mail--it really puts a smile to my face!

The last great pieces of mail that I received was this beautiful necklace from http://www.lisaleonard.com/
a beautiful thank you note from my dear friend Abbey, two netflix movies and a wedding invite!
In the last week--what were some of the great pieces of mail you received?

I love Lill and you should too!

My purse that I designed for my sister-in-laws wedding!
Purse Party at 1154 Lill store--wine and appetizers included!

I know us ladies love a great purse! I am sure if we looked at all the ones we have, we could probably count at least 20-30 purses that range from clutches, mom purses, evening purses and fun bags. I know I do. I wanted to introduce you to the most fabulous of them all--my collection of Lill Bags!
1154 Lill Studio has been making amazing and beautiful bags going on 11 years. The company is based in Chicago, IL. What makes Lill so unique is that you create your own bag and you do that by costumizing your fabrics and choosing which colors, styles and patterns you love! It is a guilty obsession of mine and they are so much fun. I believe I have about 5-6 Lill bags (check out the photo of all my latest and greatest creation! If you are like me and LOVE & LUST over adorable and unique purses then this is the place for you. I have given Lill bags, received them for bridesmaid gifts and even had my own LILL party at my house where a coordinator brings Lill to you. It is so much fun and making purses just got more fun and exciting. Check them out here!
